Materials:

A 5" Round Pine base Supplied by C & D BASKETS

1/2" Flat Reed for Stakes

1/4" Flat Oval Reed for Weavers

1/4" Flat Colored Reed for Weavers

1/2" Flat Oval for Rim

3/16" Flat Oval for Lashing

#2 Round Reed for Stabilizing row/Twining

#3 Seagrass (rim filler)

Preparation:

Cut 20 pieces of 1/2" flat reed at 6" long for stakes of the basket

Weaving Instructions:

-Soak Stakes Approximately 3 - 5 seconds (If you soak to long they won't fit in base)

-Insert the 20 stakes into the base (spacing them evenly around base)

-Twine around the base for 2 rows using # 2 round reed to lock stakes into place.

-Upstake.  

-Weave 8 rows of 1/4" Flat Oval Reed (natural)

-Weave 1 row of 1/4 Flat Reed (coloredl)

-Weave 3 rows of 1/4" Flat Oval

-Cut and tuck the stakes.
